Touching The Void - Special Screening

A special chance to see this BAFTA award winning ‘Best British Film’ and hear just what it took to shoot arguably the most iconic and gripping mountain film ever made.  Join EMMY award winning cinematographer Keith Partridge – Void’s mountain cameraman – on his own journey behind the scenes of this epic tale of survival.

In the mid-eighties two ambitious young British climbers set off to make the first ascent of the remote West Face of Siula Grande, Peru. Their epic ascent to the summit was however surpassed by events that unfolded on their way down when Joe Simpson falls and breaks his leg. While attempting a solo rescue mission his climbing partner Simon Yates inadvertently lowers Joe over an ice-cliff. With the rope jammed and in a ferocious storm Joe is frostbitten and freezing to death. Simon is forced to make the most agonizing decision of all…What happened has become the stuff of legend.

Proceeds from ths event will go to support young people attending the WSJ.
