Could you help lead Scouting in Forth Region?

We are looking for an individual who can provide leadership, motivation and guidance to Forth Scouts and its volunteers. You don’t need any prior experience of Scouting to put yourself forward for this role: we’ll make sure that you’re fully trained and supported.

About the role

Lead Volunteers play a really important role in supporting those who lead local Scouting within districts and groups as well as other volunteers. Adults at every level of Scouting need support to ensure that they are motivated, inspired and focused on providing first-class Scouting. As a Lead Volunteer, you will also provide direction for Forth Scouts, and will help others see the bigger Scouting picture through solid leadership.

As Scouting introduces exciting changes to improve the volunteer experience for new and existing volunteers, the Lead Volunteer will lead Forth Scouts through this period of transition and work with the Forth Scouts and Scouts Scotland leadership teams to ensure that Forth Scouts is able to take advantage of the opportunities that these changes offer.

So, if you’re up for an exciting leadership adventure, if you want to make a lasting impact, and if you share our belief in the power of Scouting, we’d love for you to apply for the role of Regional Lead Volunteer. We’re also open to nominations of other outstanding individuals you think would be a great fit for this role.

How to apply

If you are inspired by the chance to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to apply. Applications close on Friday 31st January.

Please make sure you read the person specification section within the job pack and then fill out the application below.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role, you can email Chief Volunteer Barry Donald Hewitt at barry.donald-hewitt@scouts.scot or speak to Martin Elliot, Lead Volunteer for Regions, on martin.elliot@scouts.scot .
