BASP Emergency First Aid Training

Fri 7th (7:00pm) to Sun 9th Mar (5:00pm)
Description: 
Organised via Scouts Scotland: Join a weekend emergency first aid courses to learn how to handle emergencies and casualties when leading or participating in outdoor expeditions.

The course provides participants with as much practical knowledge and experience as possible through a combination of indoor and outdoor practical sessions.

The course covers emergency procedures; unconsciousness and recovery position; CPR; bleeding; fractures; burns; hypothermia and heatstroke; medical issues; and outdoor activity risks, such as tick bites.

You'll have the chance to undertake a Basic Life Support (BLS) skills assessment, and you will be required to pass this to receive a certificate. Other practical skills will be assessed on a continuous basis.

A certificate, valid for 3 years and recognised by MLTB, BASI, BCU and other NGBs will be gained upon successful completion.
